Kinetic Request Preferred Architecture

Here are preferred hardware specifications and architecture diagrams for Kinetic Request and Kinetic Task.  This architecture provides load balancing to provide better performance and automatic failover.

Details

This configuration can handle up to 1000 requests per day.  The architecture can easily be scaled to handle more requests by simply adding another server to the load balanced environment.  See the table at the bottom of this article to determine how many web servers you will need for your environment.

Web Servers

Hardware

Request Web Application Server (Minimum 2)

  • Java - Server JRE 8 or JDK 8
  • Tomcat - 8.5.x

 

 

  • CPU Cores - 4+
  • RAM - 8+GB
  • Storage - HDD or SSD - 500GB minimum

Task Engine Web Server (Minimum 2)

  • Java - Server JRE 8 or JDK 8
  • Tomcat - 8.5.x

 

  • CPU Cores - 4+
  • RAM - 8+GB
  • Storage - HDD or SSD - 500GB minimum
Accompanying Applications  

Database Server (for Task)

  • CPU Cores - 4+
  • RAM - 8+GB
  • Storage - 500GB*

Database size is strictly for the server. Database size is determined seperately.

Use the following information to determine how many servers you will need based on the load your environment is experiencing.
