Authentication

Kinetic Core currently only supports HTTP Basic authentication for REST API access. You can use one of two methods to provide your user credentials: encoding them into the URL or using the Authorization header with the credentials encoded. See below for examples.

URL Encoded

Simply include the username and password as part of the URL:

http://username:password@mycore.company.com/kinetic/acme/app/api/v1/kapps

Digest

  1. Combine the username and password into a string separated by a colon: username:password
  2. Encode the string using Base 64.
  3. Add the encoded string to your request headers using the Authorization header:
Authorization: Basic dXNlcm5hbWU6cGFzc3dvcmQ=
