Mappings

Overview

Defines application specific values related to the Models

Details

Mappings provide the concrete values and qualifications to your Bridging Model.

Note: For many Bridge Adapters, more specific information about what values are available to use when setting up Structures and Fields can be found on the Kinetic Community page for the Adapter. Qualification syntax can also normally be found on that same page.

Each set of mappings must be connected to a specific model.

The Model list comes from everything on the Models console.

Once a Model is selected a Mapping can be configured.

For a new Mapping you need to enter the following:

Name. Unique descriptive text

Bridge Name. References the list from the Bridges Console

Structure. Object (Database Table, Request CE Submission, etc) that is referenced. Only one object per Mapping.

Mapping Specifics

After configuring the overall settings for the mapping and linking it to a Model, the specifics of the Mapping are set.

Individual mappings depend entirely on the Model attributes that were added.

Attribute Mappings

Each Attribute Mapping relates to an Attribute in a Model

In the majority of cases it will relate to one value, but could be a combination of values (like a Full Name made out of First and Last Name).

Clicking on the Add Field button opens the field to enter your raw field name.

Clicking on Add on the dialog adds the formatting that is required by the Bridge code. ${field['Field Name']}

Here is the structure for referencing a field from Request CE - ${field['values[field name]']}

After adding click on the green checkbox to save the attribute to the mapping.

After it is added click on the blue pencil to edit or the red x to delete.

Qualification Mappings

Each Qualification Mapping relates to a Qualification defined in the Model.

Qualification for Request CE - copied out for clarity - kappSlug=admin&formSlug=incident-tickets&limit=999&values[User ID]=${parameters('User ID')}

Clicking on the Add Qualification Mapping button opens the field to enter your Qualification Mapping.

Clicking on the Add Parameter button inserts a previously defined Mapping parameter into your Qualification Mapping.

After the Qualification Mapping is complete, clicking on the green checkbox will save the Qualification Mapping.

After it is added, click on the blue pencil to edit or the red x to delete.

Data Viewer JS Library (CE)
Data Viewer is a library which provides a reusable and constant way to build search functionality into a form and display the results. Commonly used behavior is included in the functionality (ie: Set field values in a row or list selection)  Results can be displayed as a Table or List. Custom Renderers may also be created to display search results in an alternate format. The library is configuration driven, reducing the need to create JS when creating simple tables from search results.

Data Viewer JS Library (RE)
Data Viewer provides a simple and consistent way to add search functionality to a Service Item.  It performs a search using a Bridge Request or Simple Data Request and displays the results in a list or table.  It provides a low or no code way to add a search and commonly used features to a Kinetic Request Service Item.

Using a Bridge Search to Populate Questions using a Mobile Friendly Table
This solution describes how to use bridging to do a people search, populating fields on the service item using a bridge request based on criteria the user provides. If there is more than one response to the search, a table is displayed for the user to select the correct individual from. This table uses a mobile friendly version of datatables called FooTables.
